 Recently Reserve Bank of India (RBI) published notifications for various vacant posts of Officer Grade B (General) in the Department of Economic and Policy Research. The last date to apply for these jobs is 11-7-2013. Other details of these jobs in RBI are given below:

Details of RBI Officer Grade B posts:

RBI has published notifications for the posts of Officer Grade B. There is an online application system and the application process has been opened from 12-06-2013 upto 11-07-2013.

From the above mentioned 98 vacancies 3 vacancies are reserved for the candidates belonging to Person with Disability (PWD) category. These 3 posts are Orthopedically Handicapped (OH), Hearing Impaired (HI) and Visually Handicapped (VH).

Eligibility Criteria for RBI Officers in Grade ‘B’:

 Age Limit (as on 01-06-2013):

Age should be in between 21 – 30 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02-06-1983 and must have been born later than 01-06-1992. There is some relaxation in the age limit for those candidates who posses extra qualification, experience or to some special candidates.

Educational Qualification:

i.                   A First Class Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 6o % aggregates or an equivalent grade in all semesters/ years.

ii.                A Second Class Masters Degree with minimum 55 % aggregates or equivalent grades in all the semesters/ years.

iii.             A Doctorate Degree with minimum 50% aggregates or equivalent grades in all the semestes/ years.

iv.              Chartered/Cost Accountant/Company Secretary (ACS) having a Bachelor’s Degree.     

v.                 A Post Graduate Diploma in Management / MBA qualification from institutions recognized by Government of India / University Grants Commission, with Graduation / Bachelor's Degree.

Selection Process RBI Officer Grade B (General- DR):

To get selected for the job of RBI Officer Grade B the candidates have to clear Examination and Interview. Examination will held in two phases.

The First Phase of the examination is Online Examination which is Objective Type and in the Second Phase there is a written examination which is descriptive type.

Phase I- Online Examination:    The duration of this Online Objective paper will be of 3 hours and of 200 marks. The date of this online examination is August 17/24/25 2013.

Phase II- Written Examination:   The phase ii examination will be held in the month of October/ November 2013. Those candidates can give this exam who qualify previous exam. The date and timetable will be displayed at appropriate time. The examination will consist of 3 descriptive type papers of English, Economics and Social issues and of Finance and Management. Each paper will be of 3 hours having marks of 100.

Number of Attempts:

Candidates belonging to unreserved category that is General Category who had already appeared four times in the written examination for the post of RBI Officer Grade B, in the past are not eligible to apply. There is no such restriction for the candidates who belongs to the categories SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD. If there are reserved posts for them.

Application Fee:

400 Rupees. No fee is payable by SC/ST/PWD candidates.
